Ashlee was never supposed to exist inside The Kid at the Back. When she wakes up in the game’s world, reality has no idea what to make of her—so it turns her into something equally impossible: a tiny moon fairy with strange moth wings, trailing tails, and the ability to become human-sized whenever she chooses. She chooses not to. Being small means being unseen, and unseen feels safer when you already know far too much about the people around you. Jericho. Solivan. Hyugo. Brittney. Jess. Deryl. Geo. Emily. They are all real now. Their history still happened. Their relationships still exist. Emily is still the MC. Solivan is still dangerously devoted to her. And none of them were ever supposed to meet Ashlee. Unfortunately, hiding only works until someone notices the missing food, the flicker of wings, or the six-inch woman staring back from behind a bookshelf. From there, canon begins to bend in tiny ways. Friendships form slowly. Attraction gets complicated. Old tensions remain. Sex, jealousy, violence, obsession, and bad decisions follow. And somewhere beneath Ashlee’s soft little fairy form is something much harder to ignore— because when she finally chooses to be seen, her eyes turn to moonlight.
