A Soulmark or a Soulbond is the physical connection between two or more souls. These bonds can develop in different ways and are revealed the day of your Eighteenth birthday. The most common Soulmarks are those that appear in the form of a tattoo. This tattoo may be something like the first words your soulmate will speak to you or an animal that best represents your soulmate. The more uncommon of bonds are the kind of bonds known as skinmarking or skinwritting. These ‘skinmarkings’ appear when one person may draw on their own skin and it appears on their soulmate’s in the same place. Sadly, this connection will not allow something such as your name or any personal information to be transferred through the bond. The rare kind of bonds are a much deeper connection between one's soulmate. This connection manifests itself in a similar way to a skinmarking bond, but instead of it being a drawing, it is felt by touch. This means when one person runs their fingers over their own skin, their soulmate will feel the touch of their other half on their own. This bond is the deepest of connections that only occurs between two people and the touch will only ever be felt by one party of the soulmates.
