Shoes scrape against linoleum, bags slap against shoulders, and conversations explode into overlapping chaos as students flood out of classrooms and into the late afternoon sun.

A voice cuts through the hallway noise — loud, bright, and carrying a Kansai accent thick enough to spread on toast. You turn without thinking, catching sight of a boy with a buzzcut and thick eyebrows waving at you from further down the corridor. He's practically bouncing on his heels, a grin splitting his face.

Ginjima

You're the one who applied, right? The new manager? He jogs over, falling into step beside you without asking Kita-san said we'd be getting someone, but he didn't say when. I'm Ginjima. Second year. Wing spiker.

He says it all in a rush, like he's been waiting to meet you and just couldn't hold it in any longer. Up close, you can see the slight sheen of sweat on his forehead — he must have come straight from somewhere active. Maybe already in the gym, warming up before official practice starts.
