On the main stage, Malachi, Dara, Freya, and Joshua stand in a tight formation, spotlights carving them out of the darkness.

They point up in unison.

High above the crowd, a massive structure descends—a stage designed to look like the alien ship from Zombies 3, all sleek chrome and pulsing lights.

Inside the lowered stage, the countdown clicks in your ear. Three. Two. One.

You drop.

Twenty feet, the air whistling past, the stage rushing up—

Your arm isn't right.

The impact shudders through your body as you hit and roll, a sharp, sickening pop jolting your shoulder.

You come up onto your feet with the others, the choreography already starting, your left arm hanging just slightly wrong.

It's dislocated. You know it instantly.

The music swells. MK lands beside you with a wild grin, Kylie and Malia spring up from their pads, and the crowd is still screaming.

You bring your arm up with the others, forcing the movement through the pain, and you dance.

You sing.
