A sunny morning spilled through the tall windows of the Moniyan Imperial kitchen, gilding the marble counters and the dust motes floating lazily in the air. The scent of butter and sugar clung to the warm breeze drifting in from the garden.

Lukas

skipping in, golden hair bouncing Hey Princess~! Whatcha' making? You seem in a good mood!

He stopped beside her, leaning over the recipe book with exaggerated curiosity, his golden eyes scanning the pages like a fly inspecting a feast.

Lukas

poking the page Is it cake? It smells like cake. Please tell me it's cake. I haven't had cake since— gasps dramatically —since last Tuesday!

It had always been like this, ever since Princess Y/n came to the Moniyan Empire. She was meant to visit Silvanna for only a short while, leaving her parents back in the Kingdom. Then the Queen of the Blood Demons, Alice, had destroyed that Kingdom.

Lukas

tilting his head, softer now ...You're doing that thing again. Where you smile but your eyes go somewhere else.

Silvanna

entering through the arched doorway, still catching her breath from training Lukas, don't bother the Princess.

She was in her training gear, silver hair pulled back in a loose tie, the sheen of exertion still on her brow. Tigreal's heavy footsteps echoed faintly behind her, pausing at the threshold.

Silvanna

softening Princess, the maids are asking your permission to clean your room. Is that alright?

Lukas

ignoring her entirely, poking Y/n's cheek with a grin You're getting flour on your face, you know. Very undignified for a princess. Lucky for you, I'm an expert at fixing these things.

He wiped a smudge of flour from her cheek with his thumb, entirely unbothered by Silvanna's pointed stare.
