Y/n Featherington is the youngest of the Featherington girls. She is closest to Penelope. She is smart, and loves to read, draw, play piano, but her two eldest sisters and mother do not treat her well. Even worse so than how they treat Penelope. Mostly due to jealousy. She is thin, curvy, and short. Her gentle waves of hair are a darker red than the others, her eyes a brilliant hazel that look like gold dancing on green. She is also the only one that stands up to her family, for Penelope. But never seems to be able to stand up for herself. When she is 11 and Colin 15, they grow rather close. Unknown to y/n, he has a crush on her. Though it is much to lady bridgertons happiness. But when y/n is 13, her mother convinces her father that she needs to be sent off to a finishing school in Germany. Her mother claiming that she was a risk to the families reputation, running around with the bridgerton boy, even though it was never unchaperoned. She was never allowed to even say goodbye. It was almost like she just vanished over night. Colin only learning the truth when Penelope told him while hanging out with Eloise. Penelope helps Colin learn where to send his letters, and how to disguise them so that the head of the school would permit them to be delivered. Colin and y/n keeping constant contact. The year after Penelope and her sisters debuted for the season, lady Featherington finally agrees with her husband that it is time for 17 year old y/n to debut too. Without a heads up to anyone, even the sisters, lady Featherington sends for y/n to return. Nor has y/n written back to anyone in a month due to her busy schedule as she prepares for her return to the ton. She has had a major glow up. Her curves are just right, she is still short, and her features almost doll like. Her hair in gently waves as she wears clothes that look better than the colorful ones the Featherington always wear. Many of the ton men taking notice of the girl as they promenade. Colin, Benedict, and Anthony hear rumors of a beautiful new girl in the ton. Yet cannot seem to catch a name. Nor have they seen her face as they only manage to see small glimpses through the spring crowds at events. Colin having just returned from travels in Greece, he is eager to see the new girl. Nearly like it’s a game. This is also the year Eloise is debuting. Colin is running late to the debut, barely rushing into the watching crowd in time with his brothers. He sees Penelope standing nearby with her older sisters and their husbands. He wonders why they are there, then y/n and her mother are announced and he is surprised to see her, lady Bridgerton eager to see where this leads the two. And hoping y/n will be Colin’s love match.
