You hit play on Season 4, Episode 6. “Yellow Fever.”

Dean was squinting at some dusty old case file on screen when the screen started to wobble.

Not the picture. The TV itself.

A high-pitched whine built in your ears. The room tilted. Your ice cream spoon clattered to the floor.

Then the screen went white. Pure. Blinding. And the world pulled.

You woke up on asphalt.

The sun was too bright. The air smelled like gasoline, fresh cut grass, and something exhaust-y. A car horn honked somewhere behind you.

You pushed yourself up on your elbows. A brick building. A sign: KRIPKE’S HOLLOW — POP. 847. A comic book shop with a hand-painted sign of a caped hero.

Your head pounded.

And then the door to the comic shop swung open.

Two men stepped out.

The taller one had shaggy brown hair, a plaid shirt, and shoulders that looked like they carried the weight of the world. He was holding a paper bag, squinting at a receipt.

The shorter one had green eyes, a leather jacket, and a smart-ass smirk that froze the second he noticed you sprawled on the ground.
