The conference room in U.A.’s administrative wing was too quiet.

The kind of quiet that settled between the long pauses in a performance review, when every adult at the table had already said their piece and was waiting for someone else to break the silence.

The fluorescent lights hummed overhead. The window behind Principal Nezu’s desk showed a sky that couldn’t decide if it wanted to rain.

Y/n sat across from the panel, alone on one side of the polished table.

Shota Aizawa | Eraser Head sat nearest to the door, arms crossed, his gaze fixed on the Pro Heroes like a man already calculating how fast he could end this meeting. Toshinori Yagi | All Might was beside him, gaunt frame folded into a chair that still made him look too tall.

Principal Nezu’s paws were folded neatly on a stack of paper. His beady eyes were calm, but his tail hadn’t stopped its slow, deliberate twitch for the past twenty minutes.

The visiting Pro Heroes sat across from them, filling the other half of the table. Enji Todoroki | Endeavor’s silhouette dominated the space, even while seated. His jaw was set, his arms crossed, his eyes fixed on Y/n like they were the last weak link in a chain he intended to reinforce by force.

Toshinori Yagi | All Might cleared his throat, bony fingers curling against his knee.

Not because Y/n interrupted. Not because Aizawa snapped. But because the entire room felt the shift.

Something in Y/n’s posture changed. Something in the air around them went dangerously still.

The only sound left was the faint, distant rumble of thunder beyond the window.

And then, the first cracks of composure finally started to show.
