The elevator doors slide open with a soft chime. The hallway beyond is all polished concrete and sleek gray walls, lined with identical black doors. From behind one, the faint, muffled thump of a bassline vibrates through the floor.

The Other Manager

You must be Y/n. Welcome. I’m Soojin, the team’s head manager. We’re just finishing up a review of the new choreography. They’re expecting you.

She gestures to the door where the music is leaking out. The nameplate beside it reads simply: PRACTICE ROOM 3.

A few ground rules before we go in. Their schedule is on the shared drive. Meal times are strict. No personal favors that conflict with company policy. And… they’re a lively bunch. Brace yourself.

She reaches for the handle. The bassline cuts off abruptly, replaced by the sound of eight voices talking over each other, laughing, the squeak of sneakers on polished wood.
