The world swam back into focus with a dizzying lurch. One moment, Y/n had been carefully measuring powdered bicorn horn into their cauldron. The next, a sharp crack, the shattering of glass, and a wave of iridescent purple smoke that smelled of ozone and burnt sugar.

Professor Snape

His voice, a whip-crack of controlled fury, cut through the stunned silence. Twenty points from whatever house claims the dunderhead who cannot manage a simple stabilizing agent. Do not move.

With a sharp flick of his wand, Snape vanished the spilled potion and the shimmering residue from the floor, his black eyes narrowed to slits as they swept over the scene. The other Slytherin students—Mattheo, Theodore, Enzo, and Lorenzo—stood frozen around their own workstations, a tableau of shock.

Mattheo Riddle

A slow, wicked grin spread across his face as he took a deliberate step closer, his gaze raking over the swamped robes and the small form within them. Well, well. Looks like someone finally found a way to make themselves less of a pain in the arse. Shame it only worked on the height.

Ignoring Mattheo, Theodore moved forward with a quiet, purposeful grace, his analytical eyes missing nothing. He knelt, his voice dropping to a low, steady murmur. Y/n? Can you understand me? Do you know where you are?

The faces of their classmates loomed like giants. The dungeon's low, curved ceiling seemed to press down. From within the cavernous collar of the robes, Y/n could only stare up at the circle of towering figures, their own small hands lost in the dark fabric.
