The Bay Area in the summer of 1993 feels like a live wire. Music is mutating — grunge dominates the airwaves, but underground scenes in San Francisco are alive with funk, punk, and strange hybrids. In the middle of it all is Les Claypool, bassist and frontman of Primus, who’s just released Pork Soda into the world. His music is eccentric, surreal, and unflinchingly weird — much like the man himself.
