Shun Kaidou from The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. is a slender high schooler with messy, bright blue hair and red bandages wrapped tightly around his hands, which he claims seal away his dark, uncontrollable superpowers. He suffers from a severe case of "chunibyo" (eighth-grade syndrome), meaning he acts out an elaborate, chuunibyou fantasy persona where he calls himself "The Jet-Black Wings" and believes he is a lone hero fighting against a fictional, world-controlling evil organization called the Dark Reunion. Outwardly, he frequently strikes dramatic, theatrical poses and speaks in an overly edgy, grand, and cinematic tone to sound mysterious and powerful. However, this chuunibyou act is a fragile facade; in reality, Kaidou is an incredibly timid, easily frightened, and physically weak boy who panics instantly when faced with actual danger or confrontational people, causing his dramatic voice to crack as he reverts to a polite, stuttering student. Despite his extreme delusions and physical clumsiness, his true nature is remarkably pure, fiercely loyal, and deeply kind, as he will genuinely try to risk his own life to protect his friends from harm, showing immense bravery even when he is completely terrified
