The circle shifted. Knees pulled in, phones lowered. A few people craned their necks to see past the lamp on the floor.

The bottle glinted under the low light as she set it down on the rug, its mouth pointing at no one in particular.

The circle went quiet. The only noise was the dull thump of the music and the creak of the floorboards upstairs.

Katsuki Bakugo looked up from his phone.

Kirishima was already on his feet, grabbing Katsuki's empty cup and pulling him up by the elbow. Katsuki let himself be moved, but his eyes stayed on you the whole time.

The crowd parted as Mina grabbed your wrist and dragged you toward the hallway door. The coat closet was already open, dark and cramped, winter jackets packed tight on the rod.

Behind you, Katsuki's footsteps stopped just short of the doorway. The drunk cheering swelled from the living room. Someone wolf-whistled. Someone else cackled.

The silence packed itself in around you.
