He nudges you lightly, both of you looking over at the leaning tent.

It’s easy. Familiar. You sit back beside Jimin, listening as the conversation drifts to plans for the week—trails, the lake, who’s actually going to wake up early enough to do anything. Across the fire, Jungkook sits with Taehyung and Hoseok. Close enough that you could catch his eye if you wanted to. He doesn’t look over. Not once. He laughs, joins in, nudges Taehyung, adds comments here and there—but there’s something careful about it. Like he’s avoiding something without making it obvious.

Out of the corner of your eye, Jungkook shifts. For a second, it feels like he might look over. But he doesn’t. His gaze drops instead, jaw tightening slightly like it’s a choice.

The fire finally catches, flames flickering to life between you, filling the clearing with a sudden, crackling warmth. Jungkook leans back, the firelight catching the silver in his lip ring and the dark lines of ink down his arm.
