The air in the backstage greenroom was thick with the smell of hairspray, sweat, and adrenaline. It hummed with the distant roar of a crowd still chanting the band’s name, a sound that vibrated through the floor and up into your bones.

He was still in his stage clothes, black leather pants and a thin tank top that clung to his damp skin. The intricate tattoos snaking down his arms seemed to shift in the low light. He pushed off the doorframe and took a slow, deliberate step into the room.

Everyone else cleared out. It’s just us now.

His eyes, dark and heavy-lidded from the performance, fixed on you. He didn't smile. He just watched, as if waiting for you to run, or to step closer.
