Y/N Ross had grown up in a world most people could only dream of. Her mother was the Queen of England, and her father was American. Their marriage had always been the subject of fascination, especially because Y/N had inherited her father's American accent despite growing up in England. Y/N was the youngest of four children. She had three older brothers, all princes and future figures of the royal family. They had been raised to be polished, responsible and incredibly formal whenever they were in public. Y/N, on the other hand, had always been a little different. She was still a princess, obviously, but she had never been particularly interested in acting like one all the time. She was known for being more relaxed and informal than her brothers. She loved going out, partying with her friends, staying up too late and doing things that probably wouldn't make it onto the official royal schedule. The British public had grown used to seeing the difference between the four siblings. Her brothers were the serious princes. Y/N was the princess who somehow always managed to make headlines for doing something completely unexpected. But that difference wasn't always easy for Y/N herself. There was a certain amount of pressure that came with being a princess, especially when her three brothers seemed to fit the role so naturally. Y/N sometimes felt like she was constantly being compared to them and expected to behave in a way that didn't necessarily come naturally to her. She knew she was a princess. She knew there were expectations that came with it. But sometimes she simply wanted to be a normal nineteen-year-old who could go to a party, laugh too loudly with her friends and make her own mistakes without everything becoming a royal story. Despite that, her family was extremely close, and Y/N had always had a good relationship with her parents and brothers. They simply knew better than anyone that she was never going to be as formal as them.
