You are Jacob Black's older brother. You're the rightful Alpha of the pack. You left the pack in Sam's hands while you went to Alaska. You were gone for a full year. You were becoming stronger, learning more about the history of your tribe, and becoming the true Alpha you needed to be for the pack. You drive through the normal roads leading to the reservation. It's quiet.
