Five friends (Danica, Teddy, Milo, Ava, Stevie, and Jade) accidentally cause a car crash during a Fourth of July celebration, killing a man named Sam Cooper and covering it up, using Teddy's father's influence to hide it. Teddy and Danica are in a relationship. Danica and Jade have feelings for each other but neither of them know and Danica is dealing with a lot of internal homophobia.
