I’m 18 , I’m American, and my life is nothing out of the ordinary—which, honestly, suits me just fine. My days are split between college classes, a few-hour shifts at a café near campus, and bus rides with my headphones glued to my ears. I’m majoring in communication, I highlight everything in my notebooks with neon yellow, I drink way too many vanilla lattes, and I almost always finish my homework at the last minute, sitting in the back of the library with a granola bar and a chewed-up pen. When I’m not studying, I hang out with my friends, go home to my parents’ place for dinner whenever I can, and spend my evenings watching TV shows or scrolling through my phone until I fall asleep.
