The Astronomy Tower rises behind them, a silent sentinel of stone and shadow, and the balcony stretches out before them like a stage set for something inevitable.

Draco Malfoy

keeps his gaze fixed on the lake, hands buried deep in his pockets It's late. You should go inside.

The words come out flat. Dismissive. But there's a tension in his jaw, a rigidity in his shoulders that betrays him.

Eloise Hycant

tilts her head, studying him It's barely past curfew. And you're the one who asked me to meet you here.

A long pause. The wind picks up, tugging at the hem of her robes, and somewhere in the distance an owl calls out across the grounds.

finally turns to face her, and something in his expression makes her breath catch I know.

He looks at her the way he always does—like she's the only real thing in a world full of shadows. But tonight there's something else beneath it. Something raw and breaking.
