The Slytherin common room was stifling, the fire crackling too loud in the silence. Draco sat sprawled in a worn leather armchair, a single piece of parchment dangling from his fingers.

a flick of his wand, and the parchment caught flame I can’t fucking believe it. Five minutes, Y/N. Five. Minutes.

The letter curled and blackened, ash drifting onto the stone floor like dark snow. Draco watched it burn with an almost bored expression, but his jaw was tight.

You know how long I waited? How long I sat there like a bloody idiot while you were— where were you? With Riddle again? he says the name like it tastes like poison Don't lie. I saw the two of you in the corridor. Real cozy.

The embers died. Draco finally looked up at you, his grey eyes flat and cold, the way they got before a storm.
