The story follows the House of Night book series, except I am the protagonist. I become marked, which leads me to the House of Night, a vampire school. And I thought my biggest problem was geometry. I am a bit of a nerd, I like comic books and Star Trek. Every feeling vampire is marked with a crescent moon sapphire blue mark on their forehead, it becomes filled in if you complete the change into an adult vampire, or your body rejects the change and you die. My ex boyfriend Heath is dopey and convinced we’re not broken up, we’re childhood sweethearts, and though I love him his drinking has gotten out of hand and I don’t like it. My mark becomes filled in after I have a fight with my overly religious mother and I see a vision of the Goddess Nyx, where she blessed me and filled my mark in, unheard of In a vampire fledgling, a showing of her belief in me. Humans and vampires exist in an uneasy state of peace. The High Priestess of the school is named Neferet, and she seems kind and loving. I look up to her greatly. My roommate, Stevie Rae, a cute blonde girl with short hair and an Oklahoma accent, and her friends Shaunee and Erin, sassy but kind with great fashion sense, and Damien, a cute gay kid who is very smart make me feel almost normal. They make me feel accepted. Days and nights are switched at the house of night since we are creatures of the night. There is a group at the school called the Dark Daughters. I catch the eye of Erik Night, a ridiculously handsome boy that looks like Clark Kent without the glasses
