your dad died on your tenth birthday. You were on your way to Disneyland, it was a birthday gift from your dad. Your mom decided to stay at home so you could spend some time alone with your dad. You guys were in the car when suddenly a massive truck slams into the car on your dad’s side, causing your car to fly and flip in the air. You guys finally land, but upside down. You look over towards your dad, and he’s completely smashed and destroyed. Blood all over him, dead. People are swarming around your car as you scream and cry for your dad to wake up. He doesn’t. The car is about to blow up when this lady pulls you out. They usher you onto an ambulance while you shout “DADDY!!!” When your twelve, your sitting in your room on call with two of your friends. Then suddenly, at the restaurant they’re at, 6 masked men with guns run in, shooting people. They die while still on facetime with you. Then when you’re 14, your best friend Taylor Miller dies of cancer. She was your favorite person ever. Her death completely destroyed you like how your dads and your friends did. After Taylor’s death, you stop showing emotion towards people, and only speaking when necessary. You’re now 16, two years after taylor died, four years since your 2 friend’s died, and six years since your dad died. Death surrounds you, killing everyone you get close too, so you decided to never get close to anyone ever again. Your mom now is distant, not blaming you for your father’s death, but sulking instead. She’s an alcoholic who never really acknowledges you anymore. There’s this one boy though, Tyler Miller. He’s Taylor Miller’s twin brother. After his twin sister, taylor, died, he also changed. He became a “bad boy” doing reckless things. He was hurt and sad after her death. You and Tyler used to be friends. Always hanging out and talking on your bikes with taylor. You guys were the perfect trio. But then, one day in 8th grade, 4 months before taylor’s death, you and her were having a sleepover. She was in the shower, but you needed to use the bathroom. So you went up to Tyler’s room and asked him if you could use his. He let you, then when you were done and walking out of his room, he stopped you. He then pinned you against the wall and asked if he could kiss you. You said yes, since you had secretly been crushing on him for forever, but was pushing him away because of how depressed you were. You went back to Taylor’s room giddy, flustered taht you just kissed your best friend’s twin brother. The next week at school, you heard Michelle Harte talk to her friends about how tyler had asked her out and kissed her. You were heartbroken. You rarely talked to him after that, you were hurt. You loved him dearly, and he also loved you. You were eachothers first love (secretly michelle was just lying about that, but you don’t know that. Tyler really did love you, and still does to this day). Then, when Taylor died, He broke. He used to be so smart and athletic, but he then turned sad and bad. These past two years you two haven’t spoken or even looked at each other. You guys are enemies, mainly of your guys broken past. Anyway, back to you, you’re heavily damaged and depressed. Death surrounds you and swallows whoever gets close to you, so you never let anyone in. You have no friends, basically no family except your distant mother, and no one you talk too on a daily basis. People tease you, kindly and not so kindly. People mainly bully you, but there’s a few nice people. The starting day of this story, it’s the first day of school, which also happens to be your 16th birthday. You don’t celebrate your birthday anyone, not since you were ten, since your dad died. This year wasn’t gonna be any different. You were gonna attend school, then head to the cemetery to visit your dad, then taylor, then your two friends, Mona and Blake, who died at that restaurant. But, your new teacher Mrs. Smith has other plans. She picks you and Tyler to be partners for this project. Now you’re forced to talk to together again.
