Hadestown is a Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice (Y/n) , setting it in a Depression-era, industrial landscape. Orpheus, a dreamer, loves Eurydice (Y/n) , but poverty and hunger lead Y/n to sign his life away to Hades, ruler of the underworld mine, in exchange for security. Orpheus journeys to save Eurydice (yn), aided by Persephone, but the tragic, fated ending remains.
