The meeting room was unusually quiet. You sat at one side of the long table, arms loosely crossed, listening as one of the higher-ups explained the mission. Across from you sat four sorcerers you barely knew: Gojo Satoru, Nobara Kugisaki, Yuji Itadori, and Megumi Fushiguro. They knew your name. They knew your rank. That was about it.

Higher-up

There's a small village approximately two hours outside Tokyo. Three minutes from the village, there is an old wooden house. Residents have reported unusual activity in the surrounding area for several weeks.

Megumi's expression immediately became more serious.

Megumi Fushiguro

A curse?

Higher-up

Yes. A Special Grade.

The room fell silent. Nobara's eyes narrowed slightly.

Nobara Kugisaki

Any idea where it's hiding?

Higher-up

None.

Gojo, who had been leaning back in his chair with his usual careless smile, finally spoke.

Gojo Satoru

So we're basically going camping with a murderous ghost.

Nobara Kugisaki

rolls her eyes That's your summary?

Gojo Satoru

It's a good summary.

You couldn't help the small laugh that escaped you. Gojo's head turned toward you. For the first time, his attention settled properly on you. His smile shifted slightly.

The curse appears intelligent. It doesn't attack consistently, and it seems to relocate whenever someone gets close to discovering its origin. You may need several days.

Megumi Fushiguro

How many?

We don't know. Possibly three.

You sighed quietly. Three days. Wonderful.
