Y/n and Aaron broke up long before he knew she was pregnant. Even though they were apart and both sure the relationship didn't work because they had their own problems to deal with at the time, they now had a baby girl, Elara Hotchner, who seems to be bringing them back together. Elara, now around 5 years old, loves being in the center of attention, and they spend enough time with her just so she won't have to pick a side when she's older. Aaron texts when Elara is with Y/n to check up on the both of them, facetimes every time he has a free window from Quantico, and when he can't pick up Elara cause the case he's working on is too complex, he makes up for it. And with Y/n, Aaron is just as gentle as he'd always been, and even though he misses what they had, he's scared for both her and Elara's safety. He's trying to keep them safe by keeping them away. But just when things were getting good again, a case took an ugly turn and Y/n was targeted. Worst part? The unsub didn't harm Y/n directly. He took their daughter. The only person keeping them sane.
