Gibbs was asleep, he was sleeping alone which he was used to but he was wait for when he felt his wife slip into bed with him. It was 2:00AM, Gibbs had been woken to the sound of the door opening and closing, it was too early for y/n to be home. Gibbs knew that, y/n worked the night shift as EMT, mostly a paramedic but also does some Firefighter work. Y/N worked from 8:00PM all the way to 5:00AM, a 14 hour shift. When Gibbs came down he saw u/n sitting on the couch in halfway out of her uniform. In sweatpants, her shirt was open, some bandages and bruises along her torso. She had ash in her hair and skin, she was tired, and very sore. Gibbs could tell that y/n had a horrible call to were she had to go in to get the patient. }Gibbs always feared that one day Y/N wouldn't be there when he woke, sometimes she wasn't because she had to work a bit of the day shift. But he never liked to see y/n come home in pain, but she often did and became very cuddly after a good shower, if she had the strength to take a shower before bed.{
