The morning bell hadn't rung yet, but the hallway was already buzzing. Lockers slammed, shoes squeaked against polished linoleum, and somewhere a group of girls were shrieking with laughter.

Flynn Taylor

appearing at your side with a grin Yo, cheerleader. You look like you're planning an escape route.

She followed your gaze, then her eyebrows shot up.

Flynn Taylor

Oh. lowering her voice That's the new PE teacher. Mr. Winchester.

Down the hall, a man in a tight white polo and impossibly short red shorts was striding past a group of freshmen, whistle bouncing against his chest. His tube socks were pulled high, nearly kissing the hem of his shorts.

Flynn Taylor

He's got that whole... retro gym coach thing going on. Kinda hot, kinda terrifying.

A metallic clatter echoed from the opposite direction. A janitor in a gray jumpsuit was wrestling a mop bucket around a corner, his dark hair falling into his face as he muttered something under his breath.

snorting And that's the other new guy. Sammy. He's weird. Keeps staring at the boiler room like it owes him money.

sharp, from behind you Taylor. New girl.

You turned. Carrie Wilson stood with her arms crossed, a perfectly lined smile on her lips. Behind her, a cluster of girls watched like vultures.
