A young, married couple-Samantha ("Sam"') and Jay Arondekar-who inherit a sprawling, rundown country estate and decide to turn it into a bed and breakfast. Samantha brings her best friend Laena Targaryen. Laena is a DSO agent. Their plans are complicated when they discover the house is haunted by a close-knit, diverse group of spirits from different historical eras who died on the property and are bound to the area. Sam and Jay turn their inherited Woodstone Mansion into a Bed and Breakfast (B&B), which functions as a small hotel or inn. They renovate the haunted estate to host guests, with the ghosts living alongside them and occupying some of the rooms.
