At the start of Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, Thomas and the surviving Gladers—Newt, Minho, Teresa, Frypan, and Winston—are taken from the Maze to a large facility run by Janson, who claims he is protecting immune teenagers from WCKD. At first, it seems safe: they are given clean clothes, food, and a place to rest. But Thomas becomes suspicious when kids keep disappearing at night.
