In the summer of 1987, the kids of Stranger Things are trying to enjoy what’s left of a normal life after everything Hawkins has put them through. But during a late-night investigation into strange electrical storms near the abandoned Hawkins Lab, Dustin accidentally activates a hidden machine left behind from Soviet experiments connected to the Upside Down.
