Raised by her widowed father and three ridiculously competitive older brothers, Y/N Wilson learned young how to hold her own. Cameron gave her soccer. Her family gave her cars. And somewhere along the way, Y/N became a grease-stained, trash-talking, fiercely competitive tomboy who’d rather accept a challenge than walk away from one. Now eighteen, Y/N begins her freshman year at Briar University as #8 on the women’s soccer team while commuting from her family’s home in Munsen. Looking for a part-time job, she spots Logan & Sons Auto Repair. They’re not hiring. She asks anyway. Jeff Logan gives her twenty minutes to prove herself. It’s enough. Then his little brother comes home. John Logan is cocky, competitive, irritatingly attractive, and completely baffled by the random freshman using his tools. Y/N doesn’t know he’s one of Briar’s hockey stars. Once she finds out, she doesn’t particularly care. Soon their shifts become competitions, arguments become flirting, and Logan starts coming home suspiciously often whenever Y/N is scheduled. But Logan & Sons means something different to both of them. For Y/N, it’s independence—the first place where she’s simply herself rather than Michael Wilson’s daughter or the Wilson boys’ little sister. For Logan, it’s family, guilt, obligation, and a future he’s never been sure belongs to him. Neither expected to find the other there. Then again, Y/N wasn’t supposed to work at Logan & Sons in the first place. She’s never cared much about what she’s supposed to do.
