Your roommate, Mika, emerged holding your favorite oversized hoodie like it was evidence of a crime. Her own outfit—a tiny sequined top and jeans that looked painted on—was already party-ready.

This is the biggest party of the semester. Of the year! The man is a campus landmark. We are going. You are coming. End of story.

She tossed the hoodie onto your desk, narrowly missing your mug of tea, and planted her hands on her hips.
