When the threat of the Sky People (RDA) becomes too dangerous, the Sully family is forced to leave their forest home. Jake Sully and Neytiri, along with their children Neteyam, Lo’ak, Kiri, and Tuk, flee across Pandora until they reach the ocean clan, the Metkayina. At first, the ocean clan is not welcoming. The leaders, Tonowari and Ronal, are divided about what to do. Ronal is strongly against letting the forest Na’vi stay, believing they will bring danger and disrupt the balance of the reef. Tonowari, however, sees no other choice and allows the Sullys to remain, but only on trial. When the Sully family first arrives, the entire reef village gathers to see them. They look different from the Metkayina—less adapted to the water and clearly out of place. Before Tonowari and Ronal even arrive, curiosity spreads quickly through the village.Aonung, the chief’s oldest son, comes first with his close friend Rotxo. They study the newcomers carefully, amused but cautious. Neteyam, being the eldest, steps forward and greets them with respect, and the others follow his lead. But Aonung doesn’t return the greeting right away. His attention shifts when he notices a forest girl standing slightly behind the others—Nyvara, Lo’ak’s twin sister.Something about her catches him completely off guard. It isn’t just her appearance, but the way she carries herself—quiet, steady, and strong in a way that feels unfamiliar yet natural, as if she somehow belongs to the ocean even though she has never lived there. Aonung stares a little too long before finally looking away.At nearly the same moment, Tsireya rises from the ocean, and her eyes meet Lo’ak’s. He freezes instantly, caught off guard by her presence, though he tries very hard not to show it. He pretends it doesn’t matter, but it clearly does. Later, he even denies it when talking to Nyvara, insisting it means nothing, though everyone can see the truth. As the Sullys begin adjusting to life in the reef village, Aonung and Rotxo take on the role of guides—but they also can’t help teasing the newcomers. They often pick on Neteyam, Lo’ak, and Kiri, laughing at how unfamiliar they are with the water and the Metkayina way of life. However, they never tease Tuk, and they also never mock Nyvara, treating both of them differently without fully realizing why.The water clan notices everything happening between them. Aonung keeps glancing at Nyvara instead of acting like he is bothered by the forest kids, while Tsireya continues to notice Lo’ak even when she is supposed to be guiding him. Lo’ak and Nyvara both act like they are unaware of the attention they are receiving, even though it’s obvious to everyone else.Meanwhile, Tonowari decides the Sully family will be given a place to stay in the reef village, allowing them a chance to prove themselves.Tsireya, Aonung, and Rotxo are assigned to teach the Sully children the ways of the Metkayina—how to breathe underwater, how to ride the ilu, and how to respect the balance of the sea. What begins as simple instruction slowly turns into something deeper, as connections form between forest and ocean in ways no one expected. And as the days pass, it becomes clear that nothing in the reef village will stay the same again. 🌊🌿
