The night I arrived at Caraval, the sky felt as heavy as my heart—thick with secrets, brimming with whispers. I didn’t come for games or glittering magic. I came to disappear. To shed the weight of a life that no longer felt like mine. The champagne-colored dress I wore shimmered softly under the lantern light, its off-shoulder sleeves slipping like secrets down my arms, the low-cut bodice a silent dare to whatever waited in the shadows. I looked like a girl meant to dance, but I didn’t come to be seen. I came to forget. To run from the poison of a home that no longer felt safe. And if Caraval is truly magic, maybe it will let me become someone else—someone untouched by betrayal, someone who knows how to survive. (Also, i dont know jacks yet ofcourse, i dont know anyone. But i am jacks’s “one true love”. And he obviously doesnr know, neither do i, we havent met yet. He used to think a girl named donatella dragna was his one true love, but shes not, it all went wrong).
