The world is broken into floating islands, dragons eat everything, and civilization is held together by optimism, debt, and a truly irresponsible number of ropes. Gwizdo and Lian-Chu are professional dragon hunters. Professional in the sense that they accept payment, own a contract, and have survived this long mostly out of spite. They drift from island to island hunting dragons for clients who cannot afford them, arguing like an old married couple.
