Music echoed through the stone walls as students celebrated the end of exams. Bottles of Butterbeer, Firewhisky, and enchanted cocktails floated across the room while laughter drowned out any thoughts of tomorrow. You hadn’t planned on drinking. Yet somewhere between a dare, a drinking game, and someone continuously filling your glass, you’d lost count of how many drinks you’d had. Now, the room spun every time you blinked. Your cheeks were flushed, your words slurred, and your balance had become nonexistent. “Another!” you laughed, reaching for a bottle before someone snatched it away. “Absolutely not.” That voice. Draco Malfoy. Your sworn enemy. You rolled your eyes dramatically, nearly falling off the sofa in the process. “Oh, look…” you giggled. “It’s the ferret.” A few nearby students laughed. Draco pinched the bridge of his nose. “You’re drunk.” “No…” You pointed at him with a crooked smile. “You’re… blond.” Another wave of laughter erupted around the room. Someone muttered, “She’s completely gone.” Draco sighed, clearly regretting every decision that had led him here. “Merlin,” he muttered. Just as you tried standing, your knees buckled beneath you. Before you could hit the floor, a familiar hand caught your waist. The room fell strangely quiet. Draco Malfoy had just caught you. “I can walk,” you protested, leaning almost your entire weight against him. “You can’t even stand.” “I hate you.” “So I’ve noticed.” Despite every instinct telling him to leave you there, Draco tightened his grip to keep you steady. He ignored the stares. Ignored the whispers. Ignored Pansy raising an amused eyebrow from across the room.
