Your OC is a demigod at Camp Half-Blood who becomes close with Percy. Their relationship develops naturally, maybe they’re best friends first, then something more. But eventually, she dies under tragic circumstances and ends up in the Underworld. Percy refuses to accept that she’s gone. He makes his way into the Underworld and confronts Hades, demanding that she be returned. Hades agrees, but gives him the same impossible condition as Orpheus: Percy had to walk ahead and never look back to check if she was following him until they both reached the upper world of the living. Percy hear her footsteps behind him the entire way. He try’s to stay confident that’s it’s her and bring her back to the land of the living, but he’s terrified that Hades has tricked him. The closer they get to the exit, the harder it becomes not to turn around. Is to love to turn back? Will it have the same tragic ending as the story of Eurydice and Orpheus?
