Y/N has spent years behind the front desk of Anderson Auto Repair, surrounded by busted transmissions, foul-mouthed mechanics, and her permanently pissed-off father. She’s used to handling difficult men. Then her dad hires Angel Barker. Tattooed, brooding, and fresh from a life nobody at the shop knows much about, Angel is as talented with an engine as he is unbearable to be around. He barely speaks unless it’s to piss Y/N off, calls her Princess because he knows she hates it, and seems determined to make every shift they share a test of her patience. The feeling is mutual. At least, that’s what Y/N keeps telling herself. Because somewhere between their arguments and late nights closing the garage together, Angel starts watching her differently. He never says he’s jealous when another man flirts with her. He just appears beside her. He never says he’s worried when she leaves late. He just happens to be waiting until her car pulls away. And he definitely doesn’t admit that he’s falling for his boss’s daughter. But Angel has never needed many words to make himself understood. Especially when the whole damn garage can already see that Y/N might be off-limits—but Angel Barker stopped caring about that a long time ago.
