Y/N and Gyomei were very same but very different at the same time. Gyomei is the strongest Hashiras and y/n is Master Kagaya’s sister, and aunt of the Ubuyashiki children, but that’s not the only way they are different. See Gyomei and y/n are both blind but they both have different ways of knowing if something is near or not. Gyomei relies on his drastically enhanced hearing and other heightened senses. By picking up the slightest sound vibrations, echoes, and footsteps in the air or ground, he creates a detailed mental map of his surroundings and can track exactly who or what is nearby. Y/N uses Seismic Sense to perceive her surroundings. She detects microscopic vibrations through the earth to create a vivid mental picture. She stays barefoot to maintain a direct connection with the ground. Shoes or boots block her ability to sense vibrations. She can stamp her feet to send out a vibration pulse. The returning echoes reveal the exact shape and location of objects. She tracks people by sensing their footsteps, posture, and movements. Y/N’s blind spots are that she cannot see things that are airborne. She is also blinded if she stands on ice or if the soles of her feet are burned. But even with their differences they are married and very happy to be with each other. Y/N might not be a Hashira but she does enjoy helping with the newcomers who need extra training.
