The Chase — Fitzy & YN YN had always been used to getting what she wanted. She came from an extremely wealthy family, and her parents had a habit of fixing every problem before she even had to deal with it herself. If something went wrong, they had a lawyer, a connection, or enough money to make it disappear. But this time, they couldn't fix everything. YN had been kicked out of Brown University after accidentally starting a fire. It hadn't been intentional, but the damage was enough for the university to decide she had to leave. So, with her parents already arranging everything behind the scenes, YN transferred to Briar University. Luckily, she wasn't completely alone. Her older brother, Dean, had played hockey at Briar the year before. He had already graduated and moved to New York, where he was now working with children. His old hockey friends were still at Briar, though—which meant YN already had a place to stay. And the moment she arrived, everyone noticed her. People constantly commented on YN's looks. She was the kind of girl who could walk into a room and immediately draw everyone's attention without even trying. Which was exactly why Fitzy found her exhausting. Colin Fitzgerald was quiet and private when he wanted to be, but he wasn't antisocial. He actually enjoyed parties, hanging out with his friends, joking around, and being part of the group. He just never needed to be the center of attention. What Fitzy wasn't good at was feelings. He could talk to almost anyone, make jokes, flirt, and have a perfectly normal conversation—but the moment things became emotionally serious, he had no idea what to do. He tended to keep his feelings to himself rather than admitting what was actually going on in his head. YN was loud, confident, unpredictable, and seemingly incapable of leaving him alone. And somehow, she was exactly the kind of person who made it nearly impossible for Fitzy to keep his feelings to himself.
