For as long as anyone can remember, the Rizzos, the Van den Berghe family, the Darrows, the Matthews, and the Andersons have been bound together by more than friendship — they’re practically extended family. Their parents all met back in college, and when they each started families of their own, their kids naturally grew up side by side. Every season of the year has its place in their shared tradition: winters are spent at the massive wooden cabin high in the mountains, summers at the beach house, Halloweens at the old family home near the lake, and Fourth of July and Easter both bring everyone back to the water again. It’s never just one family’s property — every parent chips in, every name on the deed, every memory layered over the next.
