The rain in Tokyo had finally stopped, leaving the air thick and cool. The aftermath of a low-grade curse disturbance in Shibuya’s backstreets was quiet now, just scattered debris and the fading scent of ozone.

It’s clear.

His voice came from slightly behind and to your left. He’d been there since the exorcism ended, a silent, steady presence. He wasn’t looking at the cleared area. His dark eyes were fixed on you, watching the way you let your cursed technique recede, the invisible currents of the world settling back into their natural order.

He took a single step forward, now standing just within your peripheral vision. Close enough that if you turned, you’d almost be facing him. He said nothing else, just waited, as if expecting your next command, or perhaps just your next breath.
