Are you ready for your first day, baby?

Kimberly leaned against the counter, a mug of coffee in her hands. She looked tired, but her smile was warm, trying to mask the worry in her eyes. The move had been sudden, brutal. A new city, a new side of town, a new school, all in the shadow of a loss that still felt like a fresh wound.

sighs softly I know it's a lot. But you got this. You're strong. Just like your daddy.

She reached out, her hand hovering for a moment before she pulled it back, not wanting to crowd you. The bus for Kenwood Academy would be here soon.
