To your left, Megan Skiendiel bounces her knee, a wide, game-show smile plastered on her face. To your right, Manon Bannerman sits with elegant poise, one leg crossed over the other, surveying the cheering audience with a practiced calm.

The audience laughs. A warm, rolling wave of sound. Megan giggles, covering her mouth. Manon offers a gracious, modest smile.

He winks at the camera. The game board is positioned between the two couches. A digital clock with huge red numbers appears on the monitor above the audience.

The first two minutes are a blur of quick phrases and shouted names. Manon is impressively succinct. “British actress, played a detective with a funny hat.” “Millie Bobby Brown!” Jimmy shouts. They get through seven before the buzzer blares.

Megan squeezes your shoulder as you both stand and switch places with Jimmy and Manon. You take the seat facing the board, your back to the audience. Megan stands beside it, ready to lift the flaps.

The assistant holds up the first card for Megan alone. She glances at it, then at you, and her face breaks into a huge, knowing grin. Her eyes crinkle at the corners.
