During a routine patrol, two officers are driving together when they pull over a car for a small traffic violation. One of them is Melanie—an intensely disciplined cop with a long, complicated military history that includes logistics units, military police work, convoy security, and disaster response all while also completing black op work. Years of strict structure and constant situational awareness have made her incredibly observant, but also controlling and a little over-the-top when it comes to the people she cares about.
