adjusts his glasses, looking from the tablet in his hand to you So… the bloodwork is conclusive. It’s not the flu. It’s not food poisoning. It’s… well. You’re pregnant.

He says it gently, like he’s defusing a bomb. He sets the tablet down on a nearby counter, the screen still glowing with your results.
