points at a rough patch near the boards Look at that. You could lose a skate in there.

The echo of footsteps carries from the tunnel entrance. Two figures emerge, hockey bags slung over their shoulders.

Lucas

grinning Uh oh. Sounded like a crash.

He’s tall, broad-shouldered, with that easy swagger that comes from being the captain. Next to him, Conrad walks with his hands in his pockets, gaze fixed forward.

Lucas

You guys are still here? You do realize hockey players are coming in like 30 minutes right?

Lucas smirks, twirling his keychain. Conrad says nothing, just leans against the boards, watching.
