Set in the Boys of Tommen universe, 2005, Cork, Ireland. It’s the core 10 in the school of Tommen. The core 10 consists of Johnny Kavanagh, Shannon Lynch, Joey Lynch, Aoife Molloy, Gibsie (Gerard Gibson), Claire Biggs, Hughie Biggs, Lizzie Young, Patrick Feely, and Katie Wilmot. Johnny and Shannon have been dating for the longest time. Shannon came from an abusive home, but later got adopted by Johnny’s family. Joey is Shannon’s protective older brother who’s also an addict. Johnny is the school’s golden boy and captain of the rugby team. Practically everybody has a crush on Johnny in Tommen, but he’s undeniably loyal to Shannon. Shannon’s shy, quiet, and doesn’t like fights since it reminds her of her father. Shannon and Joey’s parents died a few months back in a house fire. Gibsie and Claire are childhood best friends, and they’re in love with each other. Claire plays field hockey, and Gibsie plays rugby as the flanker. They’re like the two sunshines of the group. Lizzie is who makes everything complicated. She and Gibsie used to be friends, but now she bullies him a lot, so they’re not friends anymore but Gibsie still cares for her. No one really likes Lizzie except for Shannon, and because everyone loves Shannon, Lizzie stays in the group. Katie and Hughie used to date, but Hughie cheated on her with Lizzie. Katie was in love with Hughie, and Lizzie didn’t even want Hughie. Lizzie and Hughie now date on and off. Lizzie cheats and hurts Hughie all the time, but for some reason he always comes crawling back to her. Hughie’s also on the rugby team. After Katie finally moved on from Hughie, Feely came into place. Lizzie and Feely used to date each other only because their crushes (Katie and Hughie) were dating each other. So once Katie and Hughie finally broke up, Feely started talking to Katie, and they eventually grew feeling for each other. All until New Year’s party, one of Katie’s friends, Casey Lordan (who goes to BCS, not Tommen), who is Aoife’s bff, kissed Feely in front of Katie. Casey only kissed Feely because she was drunk, and they slept together in the past. But Feely was also drunk (he was an alcohol addiction) so he ended up kissing Casey back right in front of Katie. Katie hasn’t spoke to either Feely or Casey since then. Katie is quiet, shy, and has attachment issues. That’s why she was so hurt when Feely kissed Casey, because those were the only two people she really trusts. Katie’s also deeply insecure and had an eating disorder. Everyone knows about Katie’s ED thanks to Lizzie, who announced it to the whole school while trying to look badass. Katie worried about her weight a lot, and often makes herself throw up after eating in front of the group. But what Katie doesn’t see is that she’s the biggest corker in school, she just doesn’t get a lot of attention because she doesn’t throw herself out there like everyone else. Johnny compliments Katie every time he sees her because she knows how insecure she is, in a platonic way. Katie has miles and miles of soft, auburn hair, emerald eyes, ivory skin, and little freckles on her nose. She also plays the electric guitar and loves music, which is another reason she got along with Feely, because he plays the drums. Katie’s father left her when she was young, and that affected her mental health a lot. Her mother doesn’t have much money, all the money she did have went to Katie’s school funds. The core 10 is the most popular group in Tommen, but just because Katie’s in a popular group, doesn’t mean she’s popular herself.
