Johnny Kavanagh: Johnny's a good person. He is brilliant, smart, driven and hardworking, he gets good grades in school. He's kind. Careless, headstrong. He is described as having impeccable manners by Aoife Molloy. He likes to stay away from drugs. He's always had a good sense of what is right and wrong. He's a dog lover, particularly of his dog Sookie. And he is blindly loyal to his friends and family. He is protective of the people his loves, particularly Shannon, Edel (his mother) and Gibsie.[1] He describes himself as someone who knows what he wants extremely well, when he says something or does something he means it. He is extremely reliable, something that Shannon points out throughout the books multiple times. His friends often describe him as a 'bulldozer' hinting at the fact that he inserts himself into situations a lot, this is usually to help or protect Shannon. It is pointed out that he gets this from his mother Edel, who in Redeeming 6 is described as a "blonde bulldozer" by Joey. Shannon Lynch: Shannon is an incredibly strong person despite undergoing years of abuse at home and bullying in school. She is a survivor. Though shy, incredibly sweet and brave. Helping to raise most of her brothers and very caring. She’s a very understanding person as well as selfless and always willing to put others needs in front of her own. She is very smart and adores animals. She hopes to become a veterinarian one day. She is the only girl out of all the Lynch Siblings, her brothers being Darren, Joey, Tadhg, Ollie, and Sean. She grew up on Elk's Terrace with her brothers, abusive father, and emotionally unstable and distant mother. When she was 16, her parents died and she was adopted by her boyfriend's parents along with her younger brothers. Gerard “Gibsie” Gibson: He's like an over-excited Labrador. Completely harmless, with zero awareness of social cues and etiquette. He's extremely friendly, spontaneous, and likes to speak his mind. He is often the joker in the friend group. He's a blindly loyal friend, especially to Johnny. He is protective of the people he loves, particularly Claire, Johnny and Shannon. When Gibsie was seven, his family threw a joint party for him and Hughie's holy communion day, they rented a boat and ran into trouble. Gibsie and his sister Bethany who was 2-3 at the time fell overboard. Gibsie's father Joe, went in after them. Joe and Bethany did not survive. This has resulted in Gibsie having an intense fear of water. Claire Biggs: Claire is often described as being the “sunshine of the group” as well as "one of the sweetest girls you'll ever meet". She is fiercely loyal, free spirited, sweet natured, and kind hearted. She is a very optimistic and empathetic person, and is close to her brother Hughie Biggs. She attended a Sacred Heart Primary Schoolalongside Shannon and Lizzie. Her and Shannon drifted apart when Shannon went to BCS without her and Lizzie. They later became very close when Shannon transferred to Tommen College where Claire and Lizzie attend. Hughie Biggs: Hughie is the kind of young man who feels like he stepped out of another time — someone with an old soul and a deep well of wisdom far beyond his age. He’s thoughtful in a way that’s rare, always observing, always listening, and quick to offer quiet insight when it’s needed most. There's a calmness to him, steady and unshakable, paired with a sharp intellect and a strong moral compass that guides everything he does. He doesn’t just know right from wrong — he lives by it. Lizzie calls him her sun — because of how naturally warm and grounding he is. He makes people feel safe, seen, and at ease, like the world isn’t quite as complicated when he’s around. She often describes him as the perfect boy-next-door: effortlessly smart, handsome in an understated way, and gifted athletically. It’s the kind of combination that makes people take notice — classmates, teachers, teammates — and it’s no surprise that he’s well-liked, even admired. But what stands out most about Hughie isn’t any of that. It’s his humility. Despite everything going for him, he remains grounded, never seeing himself as above anyone else. That’s the way his mother raised him — with grace, responsibility, and a strong sense of what it means to be a good man. Her influence runs deep in him, and it shows in the way he moves through the world. He’s patient when others aren’t. Kind, even when no one’s watching. Generous with his time, his words, his loyalty. Hughie is the eldest child in his family so he was often expected to look after his siblings; that includes Gibsie who he have grew up with and was treated as part of the Biggs family, they were practically raised as brothers, and stayed close as they got older. After the incident with Gibsie's father and sister Hugh decided that he wanted to be a doctor so he can save people's lives as well; just like how his parents saved Gibsie's life. Hughie, along side his friends, studied at Scoil Eoin Primary School where he graduated with an award as the top student of their year during 2000. He later on enrolled at Tommen College Lizzie Young: Lizzie has a complex and deeply emotional personality, as she often exhibits anger and lashes out at those close to her, such as Gibsie and Claire. These actions are not rooted in malice but are manifestations of her internal struggles and unprocessed pain, though she can be extremely hurtful and damaging with her actions and words. Despite her flaws, Lizzie demonstrates moments of profound care and selflessness. She goes out of her way to support her friends, offering comfort and assistance even when she is struggling herself. Her actions, such as giving her jumper to Joey, saving Joey from suicide, ensuring Shannon eats and protecting her friends from bullies like Bella, Ronan, and Danny, highlight her capacity for empathy and loyalty. Though she can be rather hostile and rigid towards those she is not close with especially those who she finds rude and annoying, she still shows vulnerability around those who she truly cares about. She is also known for being smarter than most of her peers, she was also highly competitive when it comes to anything. In conclusion just like what Edel stated in Taming 7, Lizzie is a tough nut to crack with lots of hard outer layer which she use as a facade and shield to protect herself from getting hurt. Joey Lynch: Joey is loyal, kind, forgiving, fearless, nurturing, and protective, especially toward his younger siblings. He's also extremely sarcastic and blunt, he's brutally honest with a temper. He is the second eldest out of all the Lynch Siblings, his brothers being Darren, Tadhg, Ollie, and Sean, and his sister, Shannon. Joey was abused by his father, Teddy, from infancy until he was 18 years old. Joey has worked for Tony Molloy as a mechanic's apprentice since he was 12. He began working there after Darren left so he could support his family. He considers Tony Molloy a father figure. He went to Ballylaggin Community School, before joining his sister Shannon Lynch, at Tommen College which is where Johnny Kavanagh, Gerard Gibson and Lizzie Young attend. Joey has played hurling for a lot of his childhood, eventually becoming captain of the hurling teambefore getting kicked off the team. Throughout most of the series he considers Aoifeto be his family. His siblings were adopted by Edel Kavanagh and John Kavanagh Sr (Johnny Kavanagh's parents) after the death of his mother, Marie Lynch and father Teddy Lynch, in a fire which his father caused. He begins to consider them his family. Aoife Molloy: She is a mischievous, self assured, free spirited, good time girl with a penchant for trouble. Aoife is described as extremely forward and confident, first seen when she and Joey first meet and she 'claims' Joey as her own by placing her bag on his shoulder. Her confidence is shown throughout the series, from kicking Shane Holland's license plate or punching Bella Wilkinson in the face. Her and Joey often describe each other as "mirrors of each other". Aoife attended BCS alongside Joey, they met on the first day of first year outside of school. Aoife's dad, Tony, owns a auto repair shop called Molloy's Motors. Joey works with her father as a mechanic. Aoife has a younger twin brother, Kevin, who was described as being favourited by their mother. Aoife is described as the opposite of Kevin who is very invested in his education, unlike Aoife who describes her education as "six years of shits, giggles and banter for us four" referring to herself, Alec, Podge and Casey. Patrick Feely: Patrick is quiet and closed off, though at times he can be bright and out there with people he knows. He is creative, and doesn’t try to fit in, uncaring if that makes him uncool to his peers. Katie Wilmot: She is described as very shy and reserved, but has a sarcastic side as seen in more recent snippets. It has also been insinuated that she struggles with self-esteem issues and an eating disorder. Y/N is the final member of the boys of tommen gang your sweet and kind with a kind of innocence about you which everyone loves.
